On Tuesday night, please hear your child read Max the Cat to you aloud. Please sign the oral reading card and return it to me tomorrow.
Begin to go over the new high-frequency words sent home tonight on red cards. I call these red words.
On Wednesday night, practice spelling the first three words in the List 1.
On Thusday night go over each of the high -frequency words. Each words will be used in a sentence on the test tomorrow. Your child will have to know how to read these words to find the words that makes sense in the sentence. Go over the last three spelling words in the list and have your child write the sentence for the test.
As part of your child's English grade, each child is expected to know that the first word in the sentence should be capitalized and that the sentence on the spelling test ends with a period because it is a telling sentnece.
